At Young Authors Publishing we believe in empowering our authors which is why all authors are taught financial literacy quarterly when they receive their royalty reports. We believe that all kids are story worthy and should see themselves reflected in the books they read.
Position Overview
Young Authors Publishing is looking for an experienced Sales Director to join our team! This is a remote mid-level position. The ideal candidate is confident in assisting with the planning, development and management of various projects, and strategic sales growth. The primary role of this position is to meet or exceed sales goals. This position is for you if you’re passionate about sales , able to simultaneously juggle multiple complex projects and tasks, and eager to understand the business of book publishing. We need a critical thinker and a problem solver who can analyze sales reports and create strategies to increase sales growth.
Responsibilities

Work with CEO to create revenue expectations by title

Create and execute marketing plans, tip sheets, and other needed materials to effectively sell titles

Meet sales targets through effective planning and leadership

Develop new sales opportunities

Regularly update metadata & communicate with distributors to ensure YAP titles are featured prominently

Meet quarterly with sales reps to communicate frontlist titles, sell backlist titles and react any requests for information

Work with management to evaluate reprints and track inventory

Oversee the growth of direct to consumer sales and special sales

Participate in monthly brainstorms on the direction of overall publishing program

Send weekly and monthly email newsletters

Plan and execute mailings and emails to booksellers, librarians, other organizations, bookstagrammers, and other influencers.

Maintain account databases, which includes updating buyer contact information and logging communications and outreach to accounts.
Qualifications
-
College degree or equivalent work experience
-
Minimum of 2+ years sales or publishing experience

Strong knowledge of social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest)

Exceptional written and oral communications skills

High level of professionalism, attention to detail, organization

Interest in book trends, publishing, media, marketing, social media, and sales

Highly motivated self starter who will do whatever it takes to meet/exceed goals

This is a contractor position with the opportunity of earning commissions. The compensation range for this position will be $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 annually.
